Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Flexible contract ranging from 8 to 26 weeks
• PM shift with every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required - staff must work one summer and one winter holiday
• Staff are assigned to rotating groups for self-scheduling on a weekly basis
• Position may require floating to other units to cover staffing needs
• Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Required certification: BLS
• Charting system: Meditech (preferred)
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Must be comfortable caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Common patient diagnoses include pneumonia, sepsis, COPD, renal failure, GI bleed, diabetes management, wound care, and more
• Required skills include blood product administration, IV insulin protocols, telemetry remote monitoring, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• 24 orientation hours required
• Locals within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• RTO policy: if one holiday falls in the assignment, expect to work it; if two holidays, expect to work one; if three, expect to work two
