Telemetry RN Job in Austin, TX

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 34-bed private room telemetry unit at South Austin Hospital in Austin, TX. This is a 13-week night shift contract running from September 21, 2026.

Role Details

• Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, three 12-hour nights per week
• Patient ratio: 5:1
• Every other weekend scheduling
• No on-call requirement

Clinical Expectations

• Cardiac rhythm interpretation skills required
• Respiratory experience including advanced airways and oxygen management
• Experience with cardiac drips (non-titrated)
• Perform and assist with procedures including stress tests, heart catheterization, CABG, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and chest tube placement
• Float to Med-Surg, Med-Surg Telemetry, and ED holding as needed

Certifications and Requirements

• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• CPR certification required
• Navy scrubs required

Unit Environment

The typical night shift team includes a Charge RN, 7 RNs, and 3 PCTs. You will work with equipment including GE Telemetry, Pyxis, Welch Allen Vital Sign Monitors, and Meditech EMR.

Compensation

Weekly pay: $1,674
