RN - ICU Neuro

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend requirement includes 3 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) plus 1 Friday and 1 Monday per 4-week schedule
• Holiday shifts assigned as needed on a rotating basis
• Preference and block scheduling available with adjustments based on unit needs
• Cancellation policy allows up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio on a 20-bed Neuro ICU unit
• Nurse aide support available at a 10:1 ratio
• Intensivist in house during the day with on-call coverage at night and 24/7 APP coverage
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7 with equipment including ventilators, BiPAP, high flow, and nasal cannula
• Monitor techs available with telemetry observed remotely from another floor
• Free charge nurse not included in staffing ratio
• Common patient diagnoses include stroke, dialysis, head bleeds, ventriculostomy/EVD, and neurological disorders requiring critical care
• Required to titrate drips including Levophed, phenylephrine, Versed, paralytics, heparin, insulin, nicardipine, and vasopressin
• Charting system: EPIC
• ICU and critical care experience required
• BSN not required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
