ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN in the Emergency Department at Mission Hospital, a high-volume facility with 101 beds. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 28, 2026, with a schedule of 3x12 nights (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM). Weekly pay is $1,885.

Your Role

You'll manage patient care across all ED sections with a focus on teamwork and communication. Patient ratios are 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds. You'll use Cerner for documentation, operate Baxter pumps and GE monitors, and maintain current patient boards. Support staff includes technicians in the cardiac monitoring unit, internal processing area, and triage, plus unit clerks on day and night shifts.

Schedule & Expectations

• Every other weekend scheduling required with flexibility to meet department needs
• Block scheduling is not available
• Must float to all sections within the ED; no floating outside the ED
• Follow AIDET patient experience standards with respectful behavior and consistent communication
• Navy scrubs required

Experience & Certifications

Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting. Preferred experience includes Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED with more than 100,000 annual visits.

You must hold the following certifications prior to your start date: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS. ENPC is required within 90 days of hire.
