PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You will work as a registered nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a travel nursing position created to backfill for contractor replacement, with 4 open positions available.

Your Role

You will provide direct nursing care in a high-acuity progressive care environment. You will support patients with complex medical needs who require close monitoring and intermediate-level care—a step between intensive care and general medical-surgical units. Your responsibilities will include assessments, care planning, patient education, medication administration, and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure quality outcomes.

Work Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Nights: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• 91-day assignment
• Start date: June 26, 2026

Compensation

You will earn $2,277 per week.

About the Role

The PCU bridges critical care and general nursing. You will work with patients who need continuous cardiac monitoring, frequent vital sign checks, and skilled intervention but are transitioning toward step-down or discharge. Strong assessment skills, clinical judgment, and the ability to manage multiple complex patients are essential. You will be part of a team committed to delivering safe, compassionate care.

Requirements

• Current RN license in North Carolina (or compact license)
• Experience in progressive care, telemetry, or intermediate-level nursing preferred
• Ability to work the night shift schedule
