Respiratory Therapist Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as a Respiratory Therapist in the Respiratory Services department at Mission Hospital in Asheville. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting August 10, 2026, with a day shift schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week, running 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.

Your Role

You'll staff the main respiratory department on floor A343 and float to all critical care units and floors as needed. The day shift typically operates with 15–20 RRTs supporting adult service lines and 3–4 RRTs for NICU and pediatric service lines. Patient ratios range from 10 to 25 patients depending on unit assignment.

Equipment and Systems

You'll work with a range of respiratory equipment, including:

• GE R860 Adult ventilators
• Draeger Infant and Pediatric ventilators
• Newport HT70 transport ventilator
• V60 Non-invasive device
• Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high-flow oxygen devices

The facility uses the Cerner EMR system for patient documentation.

Schedule and Requirements

You'll work a varying weekend schedule with at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week rotation. Medium gray or pewter scrubs are required. You must hold an RRT credential along with current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. A North Carolina Respiratory License is required, and NRP certification is preferred.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,142 for this 91-day assignment.
