Respiratory Therapist Job in Chapel Hill, NC

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Respiratory Therapist II to join the University of North Carolina Health Care System in Chapel Hill, NC. This is a 12-hour shift position with an 89-day contract starting September 28, 2026. You will earn $2,319 weekly.

In this role, you will deliver comprehensive respiratory care across pediatric, neonatal, and pediatric intensive care settings. Your responsibilities include:

• Airway management, including aspiration of established airways, tracheostomy care and tube changes, endotracheal intubations, and extubations
• Mechanical ventilator management, setup, specialized ventilator mode utilization, patient monitoring, and weaning techniques
• Oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and aerosol medication delivery
• Bedside pulmonary function testing and breathing exercises
• Arterial punctures and advanced practice procedures including UAC, UVC, IV insertion, chest tube insertion, needle decompression, ABGs, and blood glucose monitoring
• ECMO management, providing extracorporeal circulation for cardiac and respiratory patient support
• Air Care transport of pediatric and neonatal patients from referral hospitals per protocol
• On-call availability for days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required

You will function independently with minimal supervision and serve as a resource to other clinical staff.

Qualifications: You must hold a credential as an Allied Health Professional (Respiratory Therapist). A minimum of 2 years of hospital-based respiratory therapy experience is required. ECMO experience, oscillator experience within the last 5 years, and EPIC system proficiency are required for this position. Your ability to work effectively with pediatric, neonatal, and PICU patient populations is essential.
