RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• PCU Registered Nurse position with a 1:5 patient ratio
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; community hospital experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Travel experience required; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed per unit
• 8 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule period, combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• No block scheduling available
• No on-call required
• Maximum 7 days of pre-approved time off
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks; cancelled shifts must be the regular assigned shift length
• Scrub color: Navy
• Charting system: EPIC
• Free parking available
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS, ACLS, CPI (preferred)
• Required skills include: cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation, management of dysrhythmias, use of rapid response teams, post cardiac angiogram and post MI care, pre/post cardiac cath, feeding tube care and management, pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure management, blood product administration, central line care and management, peripheral line care and management, PICC line management, starting IVs, heparin protocols, managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration), PCA, CVA management, surgical drain management, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation of ABGs, tracheostomy management, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac
• Preferred skills include: sheath removal, accessing ports, phlebotomy, and total joint replacements
• Patient diagnoses include: AMI, cardiac arrhythmia, heart failure, chest pain, vascular/PVD, intermediate level of care, sepsis/infection, pneumonia, ETOH withdrawal, SI, and GI bleed
• Special procedures include: pre/post cath patients and femoral line/groin site management
• Special equipment: telemetry
• Patient age groups served: adults and geriatrics
