Respiratory Therapist Job in Austin, TX

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week contract position in the NICU at St. David's Medical Center in Austin, TX. This is a night shift role working 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM on a 3x12 schedule with a rotating weekend rotation (approximately 4 weekend shifts per month). There are no on-call requirements.

About the Role:

• Provide respiratory support to neonatal patients, including premature infants under 32 weeks gestation
• Manage patient assignments based on volume, typically 35–40 patients per shift
• Work with GE ventilators, V60 BiPAPs, and Airvo HFNC equipment
• Perform standard respiratory therapy procedures: nebulizers, chest physiotherapy, arterial blood gas collection, ventilator management, inhaled nitric oxide administration, bronchoscopy assistance, intubation support, and mechanical ventilation transport
• Document care using the Meditech EMR system
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members across the unit

Requirements:

• Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist (Allied Health Professional credential)
• Adult respiratory experience in an acute care setting required
• Adult critical care experience in an ICU or ED preferred
• Ability to work effectively with neonatal and critical care teams

Compensation and Schedule:

Weekly pay is $1,743. The contract runs 91 days, starting August 17, 2026.
