ED Nurse Job in San Antonio, TX

Methodist Hospital Northeast is seeking an RN for a 13-week contract position in the Emergency Department. You will work 3x12-hour day shifts (9 AM–9 PM) at $1,674 per week, beginning September 10, 2026.

About the Role

You will provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department with 48 headwalls and approximately 25 additional treatment spaces. Using acuity-based patient ratios, you will perform a range of emergency nursing procedures and assessments, including moderate sedation, RSI, CPR, PIV/IO placement, splinting, EKG interpretation, blood transfusion administration, TNK administration, cardiac monitoring, stroke and trauma assessment, resuscitation, and sepsis workups. You will work with emergency, trauma, and critical care equipment including GE, Stryker, and Plum 360 systems, and document care using the Meditech EMR.

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• Current certifications: TNCC, ENPC or PALS, ACLS, BLS, and CPI
• Strong clinical and rapid patient assessment skills
• Demonstrated critical thinking and ability to recognize changes in patient condition
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a high-volume emergency department
• Trauma experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center

Expectations

You must arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled start time to clock in, receive huddle, and assume patient care. A full 30–34 minute lunch break will be taken each shift with separate clock-out and clock-in. Navy scrubs are required. No food or drink is permitted in patient care areas, and personal bags are not allowed in patient care areas. No on-call or weekend requirements apply to this position.
