ED RN Job in McAllen, TX

Rio Grande Regional Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for their freestanding emergency department. You'll work 3 nights per week, 12-hour shifts, on a 13-week travel assignment starting October 26, 2026.

About the Role

You'll provide direct patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting with a patient ratio of 1:4. Your responsibilities include performing emergency procedures, implementing stroke center protocols, and administering moderate sedation under physician supervision. You'll utilize the Meditech EMR system and float to the freestanding emergency department as needed to support patient flow.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1 year of emergency room experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS and TNCC certifications required
• TNCC and NRP preferred

Schedule and Compensation

This is a night shift position: 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., three days per week with a rotating weekend schedule. The assignment runs 13 weeks (91 days), and you'll earn $2,233.80 per week.

Work Environment

You'll work in a professional environment where strong teamwork skills are essential. The facility requires staff to wear royal blue scrubs. Day and night shifts are available, and you'll be part of a collaborative team focused on delivering quality emergency care.
