About this role

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the ICU at Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing in Saint Louis, Missouri. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting August 3, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,815.95 on a 4x12 nights schedule (48 hours per week).

Assignment Details

  • 12-hour night shifts, 4 days per week
  • Patient ratio of 1:2 with consistent 1.5 ratios across all shifts
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call duties
  • Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
  • Float within service line to ICU units and down to med-surg as needed

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
  • Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
  • Valid certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; TNCC and CPI preferred
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Strong cardiac knowledge required

Clinical Focus

You will care for patients with respiratory failure, ARDS, acute chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, stroke, cardiac arrest, DKA, multi-organ failure, and sepsis. You will handle pre- and post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and abdominal surgeries, as well as medicine and neuro-medicine overflow, pre- and post-transplant cases, and end-of-life care including organ donation.

Core Skills

You must be proficient in arterial line management, blood product administration, ventilator care, central line management, CVP monitoring, renal failure management, sedation titration, stroke management, CRRT/CVVHD, dysrhythmia interpretation, ABG interpretation, EKG obtaining, phlebotomy, PICC line management, pulmonary artery line monitoring, IV initiation and maintenance, emergency medications, and vasoactive drip titration.

Support and Equipment

You will work with IV pumps, CRRT/dialysis equipment, ventilators, BiPAP, hemodynamic and invasive monitoring, and defibrillator/crash carts. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries.
