RN - ICU Med Surg Adult

Job Details:

• Night shift position in a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital ICU/PCU unit
• Must be willing to float to Medical Surgical Unit as needed
• Washington State or Multi-State RN license must be active
• Identify patient and family education needs and provide education utilizing appropriate modalities
• Implement patient safety measures including proper use of side rails, restraints, and equipment following restraint policy with appropriate evaluation and documentation
• Demonstrate knowledge of safe operation of all equipment in PCU/Telemetry/MedSurg areas
• Utilize troubleshooting techniques and follow procedures for repair of essential equipment and access equipment manuals as needed
• Implement infection control and isolation procedures using proper procedures and documentation
• Utilize standard precautions at all times
• Maintain complete, accurate, and concise documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses during assigned shift
• Ensure accuracy and timely completion of physician orders
• Complete 24-hour check of orders when within duties of assigned shift
• Provide complete and accurate change of shift report to oncoming employees
• Communicate with other departments completely and accurately
• Report critical lab values to the physician in a timely manner according to policy
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, room, and general supplies
