About this role

MUSC Health Columbia Medical Center Downtown is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist for a travel position. You will work 4x10-hour day shifts from 0700–1730, with shift end times varying based on procedure completion. This role involves a daily caseload of approximately 4 to 5 labs per day with 2 CVTs per lab, totaling roughly 20 cases daily.

You will perform skilled procedures including diagnostic and interventional coronary catheterization, angioplasty, shockwave, temporary pacemaker placement, IABP, Impella, carotid angiogram, atherectomy, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), FFR/IFR, pericardiocentesis, and cardiac biopsies. You will work with specialized equipment including Impella, balloon pump, Angiojet, shock wave systems, MAC Lab, and Vidistar image storage.

Staffing Requirements:

  • On-call obligations: one weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) per month, plus one call shift and one evening shift per week; call requirements may change based on facility needs
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
  • No floating between service lines or sister facilities
  • Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks; called-off hours can be broken down to equal 1 shift

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Cath Lab experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Proficiency in coronary diagnostic and interventional scrub and monitoring
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, ARRT or RCIS (registered or in process), and SC license (SCRQSA)
  • Epic charting system experience preferred
