Respiratory Therapist Job in Erie, PA

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is recruiting a Respiratory Therapist for a 90-day travel assignment at Northwest — UPMC Hamot in Erie, PA. You will work three 12-hour shifts per week (approximately 36 hours), scheduled on day shift.

About the Role

You will provide respiratory therapy services and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities across all patient populations and service areas. Your responsibilities include:

• Read prescriptions, measure arterial blood gases, and review patient information to assess conditions and determine treatment requirements
• Set up and operate mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators
• Monitor patient physiological responses to therapy, including vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes
• Perform bronchopulmonary drainage and assist patients with breathing exercises
• Perform pulmonary function tests for physician diagnosis
• Assist in transporting mechanically ventilated patients and respond to all code situations
• Maintain patient charts with pertinent identification and therapy information

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Graduate of a CoARC-approved Respiratory Therapy program
• Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Pennsylvania State License, PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, and PA Act 73
• NRP certification may be required by the facility

Compensation and Details

Weekly pay is $2,385. Your assignment begins August 3, 2026, and runs for 90 days. ADEX Healthcare Staffing handles all contract logistics so you can focus on patient care.
