PCU RN Job in Oklahoma City, OK

OU Health is seeking an RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Oklahoma City, OK. This is a 3x12 night shift role with an 89-week duration, starting June 22, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,397.60.

About the Role

You will provide direct patient care on a med-surg unit with stepdown/PCU capabilities, focusing on acute care surgical floor experience. You will care for patients pre- and post-operatively, managing complex post-surgical needs including new drains, wounds, tracheostomies, ostomies, nasogastric tubes, and Dobhoff tubes. ENT and transplant experience is preferred.

Your Responsibilities

• Manage assigned patient groups with ratios of 5:1 for surgical patients and 3:1 for stepdown area
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
• Monitor and note all changes in physician orders for assigned patients
• Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Obtain and monitor physiological data, intervening as necessary
• Administer medications as prescribed and manage intravenous infusions and blood products
• Initiate, regulate, and monitor IV lines and transfusions
• Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge
• Inform patients and families of hospital procedures
• Make appropriate referrals for patient care needs
• Delegate tasks to support staff as needed

Requirements

You must hold a current RN license and have acute care surgical floor experience. This position is for PCU/stepdown candidates only; OR candidates will not be accepted.
