Opportunity:

RN - Tele Neuro

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 4 total weekend shifts per 8 weeks required
• Holidays worked into permanent holiday rotation based on unit coverage
• 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Float to cardiac tele, tele overflow in ICU, and med-surg as needed
• 2 days of floor-specific orientation provided
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; neuro experience is a plus
• Must be able to interpret EKGs; central monitoring telemetry unit
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance; 2 attempts allowed
• Must pass orientation exam on day 1
• Required to complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes; SIMs Lab is pass/fail and sterile field competency is essential
• Charting system: Cerner with WOWs
• Common diagnoses include CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, encephalopathy, ESRD, trached patients, psych issues, and brain tumors
• Experience with titrated medications including Heparin, Amiodarone, and Cardizem required
• Must have own vehicle for travel
• Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings
• Men must be clean shaven for fit test
• Scrub color: Steel gray
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility; driver's license is source of truth
