Medical Lab Technician Job in Salt Lake City, UT

St. Marks Hospital UT is seeking a Medical Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in the ER Lab and Taylorsville FSED, with possibility of extension to 26 weeks. You will work a rotating schedule: Saturday 7:00 AM–7:00 PM and Sunday 7:00 PM–7:00 AM on a 7 on/7 off pattern, with no on-call requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily maintenance, quality control, and calibrations on laboratory analyzers
• Conduct specimen processing, including ordering tests, centrifuging specimens, and preparing send-outs for transport
• Execute point-of-care testing and waived/non-waived patient testing
• Perform clerical duties as assigned by nursing and lab director to support FSED operations
• Work independently while communicating professionally with lab and clinical staff
• Adhere to CLIA and CAP safety protocols

Requirements:

• Full MLS (Medical Laboratory Scientist) license required; associate-level credentials not accepted
• ASCP certification (MLS, CLS, or MT)
• Minimum 2 years hospital laboratory experience as MLT or MLS
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
• Preferred equipment experience: Siemens Dimension EXL, Sysmex 1000, Roche Clineteck, Werfen Top 300, Quidel Triage, Siemens ePOC, Abbott iSTAT, Veritor FLU, and Aerospray stainer
