ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts available with scheduling options including 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM, and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Schedule is created by ED leadership based on departmental needs
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday shifts required
• 2 shifts of unit/department specific orientation provided
• Pass/fail open book exam required during orientation with a minimum score of 90% required to pass
• 2 years of emergency room experience required
• Willingness to cross train to cover charge nurse role occasionally is preferred
• Care for patients of all ages with diagnoses including chest pain, abdominal pain, cough/congestion, orthopedic injuries, ENT emergencies, sepsis, and stroke
• Administer common drips including antibiotics, narcotics, anti-emetics, vaccines, and emergency medications
• Work in a certified stroke center with 21 beds/trauma bays and a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Smaller ER environment with less specialty resources; patients transferred out as needed
• Charting system: EPIC
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), PALS
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• 50-mile radius rule applies
