ED RN Job in Grand Island, NE

CHI Health St Francis in Grand Island, NE is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 26, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,359.

Schedule & Expectations

• Work three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday shifts required
• No on-call or standby requirements
• No floating to other departments

Department Details

You will work in a 21-bed emergency department equipped with 2 trauma bays, 1 resuscitation room, 1 FNE room, and 2 triage rooms. The department treats approximately 50 patients per day and manages ER holds within the ED.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage a patient ratio of 4 patients to 1 nurse
• Triage patients as primary RN upon rooming
• Work with cardiac, respiratory, oncologic, neurosurgery, stroke, and trauma patients
• Care for pediatric patients in a pediatric readiness certified environment
• Draw 90% of labs as primary nurse
• Operate ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen equipment
• Perform and interpret EKGs
• Monitor patients on telemetry and document strips per standards of care
• Access portable X-ray in the ED and CT located close to the department
• Chart using EPIC electronic medical records system

Requirements & Certifications

You must hold current ACLS, BLS, ENPC, NIHSS, NRP, PALS, TNCC, and a de-escalation certification. You will complete an orientation pass/fail open book exam with a minimum score of 90% required. Navy scrubs are required, and artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas.
