ED RN Job in Kearney, NE

CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, NE is seeking a registered nurse for the emergency department. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning November 16, 2026, with 3x12-hour night shifts at $2,497 weekly pay.

Shift Details

• 12-hour night shifts: 2:00 PM to 2:30 AM or 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• Weekend and holiday availability required
• On-call/standby requirement in place
• No floating to other units

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage 1:4 patient ratio
• Perform triage for incoming patients
• Manage ER holds assigned to your care
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Perform or coordinate phlebotomy as needed
• Treat diverse presentations: abdominal pain, trauma, chest pain, eye/ear conditions, and pediatric patients
• Chart using EPIC electronic medical records

Team Collaboration

• Work with ED physicians on-site at all times
• Coordinate with mid-level providers (12:00 PM to 10:00 PM)
• Collaborate with in-house EMS and flight teams
• Respiratory therapy manages ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKGs
• X-ray services located within the ED; CT adjacent to the ER

Requirements

• Current Nebraska RN license
• Valid driver's license at time of submittal
• ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS, NRP, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• Pass orientation exam (open book, 90% minimum score)

Facility Policies

• Navy scrubs required; CHI t-shirts permitted
• Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care areas
