Job Details:

• Primary role in Level 3 NICU setting
• Must be proficient and able to function independently in critical care of neonates including intubation (greater than 22 weeks gestational age)
• Obtain arterial blood samples and assist in high risk, low volume bedside procedures
• Must possess adult critical care skills including intubation, airway management, and arterial line insertion
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Every other weekend required
• No call required
• Floating required within hospital/scope of practice and to Piedmont Macon North Hospital as needed
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
• If one or two major holidays fall within assignment period, traveler is expected to work those holidays; if three major holidays fall within assignment period, traveler is expected to work two of them
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Serves patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, RRT
• Preferred ventilator experience: Drager VN 800 (NICU only), Puritan Bennett (adult), Viasys Vela (adult), Avea (adult), and GE Carescape (adult)
• Key skills include adult critical care, neonatal intubation, BiPAP, CPAP, high frequency oscillation, nitric oxide, oscillating ventilator, mechanical ventilation weaning, tracheostomy care/management, and arterial blood gas interpretation
