Pediatric Respiratory Therapist Job in Macon, GA

You will work as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in a Level 3 NICU at Piedmont Macon Medical Center, providing critical respiratory care to neonates and supporting patients across all age groups. This is a 84-day travel assignment starting July 20, 2026, with a 3x12 day shift schedule and weekly pay of $1,918.08.

Your Role

• Provide primary respiratory care in the NICU setting, including intubation for patients greater than 22 weeks gestational age
• Obtain arterial blood samples and assist in high-risk, low-volume bedside procedures
• Demonstrate proficiency in adult critical care skills including intubation, airway management, and arterial line insertion
• Float within the hospital and to Piedmont Macon North Hospital as needed, within scope of practice
• Work every other weekend; no on-call requirements

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience (first-time travelers are accepted)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, PALS, and RRT
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Community hospital experience
• Strong skills in neonatal intubation, mechanical ventilation weaning, tracheostomy care, CPAP/BiPAP, high-frequency oscillation, nitric oxide therapy, and arterial blood gas interpretation
• Familiarity with ventilator models: Drager VN 800 (NICU), Puritan Bennett, Viasys Vela, Avea, and GE Carescape (adult units)
• Trauma Level I or Level II experience preferred

Assignment Terms

• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract
• If one or two major holidays fall within your assignment, you will work those holidays. If three major holidays fall within the assignment, you will work two of them. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
