ED Registered Nurse Job in Lufkin, TX

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at CHI St Lukes Health-Memorial Lufkin. This is a 3x12 rotating shift position with 12-hour shifts available as 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Self-scheduling is available for both day and night shifts.

What you'll do:

• Provide direct patient care in a 24-bed emergency department with 3 trauma bays
• Manage a patient ratio of 1 to 4, caring for 80–90 patients per day
• Treat common diagnoses including trauma, stroke, sepsis, CHF, and cardiac conditions
• Participate in triage on an occasional basis
• Manage ER holds intermixed within the department
• Read and interpret ECG rhythms independently (no monitor techs on unit)
• Document using Paragon and EPIC charting systems
• Perform phlebotomy as needed or coordinate with tech staff
• Float to other units as qualified

Schedule and requirements:

• Every other weekend requirement
• Every other holiday requirement
• No on-call or standby requirement
• Navy scrub color requirement
• Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, PALS or ENPC

Facility resources:

• Respiratory therapy team handles vents, CPAP, BiPap, high flow, ABGs, and breathing treatments
• CT and X-ray located adjacent to the emergency department
