Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 1 year of experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI), and NIHSS
• Float required to other Med/Surg units, including forensics, ED, post-partum, and inpatient units
• Must be comfortable working with the prison population
• Patient ratios: 1:5-6 during days and 1:6 during nights
• Weekend coverage required with 6 shifts every 6 weeks
• 24 orientation hours included
• Unit contains 18 beds and 18 rooms
• Patients served include adults and geriatrics across underserved, underinsured, homeless, and insured populations
• Required skills include: cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, blood product administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, IV insulin protocols, management of cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration), PCA, peripheral line care and management, post cardiac angiogram, pre/post cardiac cath, starting and maintaining IVs, telemetry remote monitoring, isolation precautions/PPE, and administration of chemotherapy
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Contract nurses are expected to participate in a holiday rotation and work 3 of the following 6 holidays: Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
• Local and first-time travelers are accepted
