CVICU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN in a 16-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 7, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3x12 night shifts (6:45 PM–7:15 AM)
• 36 hours per week
• Alternating weekend requirement
• $2,102.40 weekly

Unit Details

You'll care for cardiovascular ICU patients in a unit staffed by RNs only—no HUC or PCT support. Patient ratios are typically 2:1 or 1:1, occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity. The unit uses Cerner for documentation and Baxter IV pumps for infusions.

Required Skills

• ICU experience
• Titration of vesicant medications
• Familiarity with pressors, sedation, and paralytic agents
• Ventilator and tracheostomy management
• Telemetry interpretation
• Hemodynamic monitoring and understanding
• PA catheter setup and interpretation

Advanced and Desired Skills

• IABP, Impella, and CRRT management (advanced)
• Transvenous pacing and cardioversion
• TEE interpretation
• Chest tube insertion and maintenance

Procedures and Equipment

The unit regularly performs cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis. Equipment includes ventilators, telemetry monitors, IABP devices, CRRT machines, Impella devices, and hypothermia equipment. You may float to all unit areas as needed.

Dress Code

Required scrub colors are all navy or navy and white. No pullovers, hoodies, or green scrubs unless your uniform becomes soiled during your shift.

Certifications

No certifications are required for this role. CCRN, IABP, Impella, and CRRT certifications are appreciated but not mandatory.
