CVICU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) float pool at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 1, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week (6:45 PM–7:15 AM)
• 36 hours per week
• Alternating weekend schedule
• $2,493 weekly pay

The Role

You will float to all areas of the facility as part of the float pool. The CVICU is a 16-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit where you'll manage patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1, occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity. This is an RN-only unit with no HUC or PCT support.

Required Skills and Experience

• ICU experience
• Ventilator, tracheostomy, and telemetry interpretation
• Titration of vesicant medications
• Familiarity with pressors, sedation, and paralytics
• Understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter setup and interpretation

Equipment and Procedures

You will work with ventilators, telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, IABP, CRRT, Impella, and hypothermia devices. You will perform or assist with cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertions, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis. Desirable advanced skills include IABP, Impella, and CRRT experience.

Documentation and Standards

• Cerner electronic health record system
• Navy or navy and white scrubs required; no pullovers, hoodies, or green scrubs unless uniform is soiled at work

Certifications

No certifications are required. CCRN, IABP, Impella, and CRRT certifications are appreciated.
