Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 36 hours offered per week
• Contract length is 26 weeks
• Minimum of 4 weekend days per 6-week time track, up to every other weekend
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• Floating is required between Emergency Observation Unit and Emergency Behavioral Health based on greatest need
• Patient ratios of 1:3-5 with approximately 250 visits per day across 101 beds
• Patient population includes neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics serving as a regional referral and tertiary care center
• 24 hours of unit orientation provided
• Scrubs: Navy/White
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Previous charge experience required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Required skills: IV start, triage, telemetry, acute psychosis, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, chest tube insertion and management, continuous IV sedation, CVA management, drug overdose, emergency medications, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, intubation, isolation precautions and PPE, IV vasopressors, management of multisystem organ dysfunction and failure, managing violent behavior, obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, phlebotomy, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, psychiatric hold, starting and maintaining IVs, suicidal patient management, and triage
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, MOAB
• Preferred certification: TNCC
• Required charting system experience: Epic
• Unit systems include Pyxis, Epic, SBAR, and daily shift huddles
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
• Teamwork approach required; must adhere to call-off policy which is strongly enforced
