ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC is seeking an experienced RN for their Emergency Department. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 31, 2026, with a schedule of three 12-hour night shifts per week (6:45 PM to 7:15 AM). Weekly pay is $1,918.44.

Role Overview

You will work in a high-volume ED with 101 beds, managing patient ratios of 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds. Every other weekend scheduling is required, with flexibility to meet department needs. Block scheduling is not available. You must be open to floating across all ED sections; floating outside the ED is not permitted.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Document using the Cerner electronic health record system
• Operate Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Follow AIDET patient experience standards with respectful behavior and consistent communication
• Maintain updated patient boards with current information
• Collaborate with available technicians in cardiac monitoring, internal processing, and triage, and with unit clerks available days and nights

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Preferred experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED with more than 100,000 visits
• Strong teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED
• Required certifications prior to start: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
• Navy scrubs (required dress code)
