Certified Surgical Technologist Job in San Rafael, CA

You'll work as a Certified Surgical Technologist in an ambulatory surgery center, supporting surgical teams through operative procedures with precision and attention to detail.

Your responsibilities include:

• Prepare surgical suites, supplies, and equipment according to environmental safety and infection control standards
• Ensure sterile packaging integrity by opening supplies aseptically while controlling environmental factors
• Check equipment and supplies for proper working order before each surgical procedure
• Perform surgical scrub responsibilities for preoperative patient care, customizing support for each patient and surgeon
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments during procedures
• Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
• Identify, correct, and report aseptic technique breaks to appropriate personnel
• Assist registered nurse with patient preparation, transfers, and counting procedures per established policy
• Actively participate in time-out processes and identify potentially unsafe conditions
• Assist with room turnover, cleanup, patient transporting, and positioning
• Maintain, review, and order inventory based on scheduled procedures and current stock levels

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Graduate of an approved OR Surgical Technologist course
• Minimum one year of related experience or training in a clinical setting with surgical scrub experience in an ambulatory surgery facility
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certification preferred
• Ophthalmology skills required
• Proficiency in Internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software

Position details: Rotating shift, 56-week assignment beginning August 3, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,160.80.
