Emergency Department RN Job in Utica, NY

You will work as a Registered Nurse in a 64-bed Emergency Department at MVHS Inc. in Utica, NY. This is a travel assignment lasting 89 days, starting October 19, 2026.

Shift and Schedule

• 3 shifts per week, 12.5 hours each
• Evening shifts: 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed
• Floating to other units is required

Unit Composition and Patient Population

The ED includes 2 triage beds, 40 acute beds, 6 super track beds, 2 trauma beds, 10 CDU beds, and 6 psychiatric beds. You will care for patients across all age groups—newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics—with common diagnoses including stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure.

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of ED experience with some pediatric experience
• Proficiency with specialty equipment: Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun
• Competency with pressors (Levophed, Neo, Epi, Vasopressin, Dobutamine, Dopamine), vasodilators (Cleviprex, Cardene, NTG), anti-arrhythmics (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lidocaine), sedation medications (Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl), TNK, Heparin, and Insulin
• EMR experience with EPIC required
• Charge nurse capability is highly preferred

Required Certifications and Credentials

• Active New York nursing license with NURSYS verification
• AHA ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications
• Current driver's license with address matching your demographics
• Travel experience required
• Skills checklist matching specialty required

Additional Details

Navy blue scrubs are required. You will earn $2,575 per week. This assignment is ideal if you have prior travel healthcare experience and are ready to work in a fast-paced, multi-acuity emergency setting.
