ED RN Job in Burlington, NC

You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (occasionally 3:00 PM to 3:30 AM as needed) in a 58-bed emergency department at Cone Health – Alamance Regional Medical Center. This role is self-scheduling with no on-call responsibilities, and you may be floated to other campuses within the health system as needed.

Role Details

• Patient ratio of 4:1 across days, nights, and weekends
• Care for all age groups: neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Department averages 180 visits per day
• Coverage includes up to every other weekend and holiday as needed

Required Clinical Skills

• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Blood product administration
• Care of ventilated patients and central line management
• Continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• IV vasopressor administration
• CVA management
• Triage, phlebotomy, and IV insertion and maintenance

Required Certifications and Experience

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers welcome
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and STARR/Behavioral population certifications
• EPIC EMR experience required
• STEMI and Stroke facility experience required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
• Community hospital experience preferred

Population Focus

You will care for patients with cancer, sepsis, medical emergencies, and behavioral health needs. Interdisciplinary support is available through IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services.

Assignment Details

91-day assignment beginning August 31, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,124.
