PCU Registered Nurse Job in Burlington, NC

Cone Health – Alamance Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for their 30-bed Cardiac Progressive Care Unit in Burlington, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment running 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) with weekend and holiday rotation as needed.

Compensation & Schedule

• Weekly pay: $2,099.52
• Schedule managed through Optilink on a 6-week self-assisted rotation based on departmental need and patient acuity
• Nurse Assistants available 24/7; RN Secretary available 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM

Patient Care & Clinical Focus

• Patient ratios: 1:4 with drips or BiPAP; otherwise 1:5
• Primary focus: cardiac patients including Congestive Heart Failure, Acute Coronary Syndrome, arrhythmias, pre and post cardiac catheterization, rule out myocardial infarction, syncope, and pacemaker placement
• Secondary focus: respiratory conditions such as COPD, pneumonia, and BiPAP management
• Remote room monitoring via Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience; first-time travelers welcome
• Cardiac PCU experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proficiency with EPIC charting system
• Must pass compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Charge RN experience preferred

Required Clinical Skills

• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Telemetry monitoring
• Pre and post cardiac catheterization care
• Peripheral and PICC line management
• Cardiac and vasoactive drip management with titration capability
• Procedural sedation administration
• Chest tube management (Emerson, Pleur-evac)
• External CPAP and BiPAP management
• Tracheostomy care

Rapid Response Team experience is preferred. You may be floated to other campuses within the Cone Health system as operational needs require. Start date: October 26, 2026.
