Med Surg RN Job in Des Moines, IA

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a Medical Surgical unit at UnityPoint - Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. This is a temporary position with a duration of 91 days, starting September 28, 2026.

Position Details

• Shift: Days
• Weekly pay: $2,280.96
• Weekends scheduled as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratio of 1:4–6 on days
• Unit bed size: 24–26 beds
• Billable overtime applies between 36–40 hours per week

Requirements

• Current Iowa state nursing license
• BLS certification
• 24 months of Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting
• Patient care experience in general, gynecology, and breast surgery
• Patient care experience in abdominal, flaps, and ENT
• Heparin drip and titration experience
• EPIC EMR experience
• Level II trauma experience
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the past 24 months

Preferences

• Level I trauma experience

• Scrub color requirement: navy blue solid tops and bottoms
