Respiratory Therapist Job in Lake Charles, LA

ADEX Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a 91-day travel assignment at CHRISTUS Ochsner St Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. This is a full-time position working night shifts.

Position Details:

• Shift: 3x12 nights (6:00 PM–6:00 AM at St. Patrick facility; 7:00 PM–7:00 AM at Lake Charles facility)
• 2 positions available
• Float between Lake Charles and St. Patrick facility locations
• Every other weekend and holiday requirement
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratio: 5 vents to one therapist
• Start date: September 14, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,170

Responsibilities:

• Perform patient assessments and institute respiratory care plans for critical, non-critical, and chronically ill adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients under physician direction
• Perform technical and diagnostic respiratory therapy procedures throughout all hospital areas
• Manage airway support including nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning
• Setup, operation, and management of ventilators
• Deliver aerosolized medications and manage BiPAP and CPAP devices
• Operate oxygen delivery devices and perform therapeutic monitoring
• Perform chest film analysis, blood gas collection and analysis, and EKG analysis
• Respond to emergency codes (Code Blue and White)
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation
• Clean and stock equipment and supplies as necessary
• May function as Shift Leader or Team Leader

Advanced Skills (as applicable):

• Therapeutic gas management
• Pulmonary function testing
• Bronchoscopy assist
• Hemodynamic monitoring and waveform analysis
• Nocturnal SpO2 evaluation and polysomnography
• Transport duties

Requirements:

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by NBRC
• RT or RCP License in state of employment
• Adult ICU experience required
• 1–3 years of experience preferred
• BLS certification via AHA
• ACLS certification via AHA
• Gray scrubs required
