ICU RN Job in Redding, CA

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 30-bed ICU/Trauma ICU unit. You will work 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM on a 3x12 schedule with every other weekend requirement. There is no on-call or standby obligation.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1–2 (90% of shifts at 1:2 ratio)
• Titrate vasoactive drips including vasopressors and sedation
• Interpret telemetry strips independently; unit secretary will run strips
• Monitor patients with ICP devices and ventriculostomies, or manage post-TPA patients
• Float to PCU, CICU, telemetry, or med-surgical units as needed
• Work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and communicate when additional support is needed

Required Qualifications:

• Valid California RN license
• 2–3 years of ICU specialty experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• NIHSS certification required
• Experience with ICP monitoring, ventriculostomies, or post-TPA patient management
• Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage complex drips independently

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous travel nursing experience
• PALS certification (required if assignment extends beyond 6 months)

On-Site Details:

• Orientation: 1 day on unit with additional time as needed
• Dysrhythmia test (proctored, pass/fail) on day one
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrub color: Navy
• BSN not required

Assignment duration is 91 days, beginning September 15, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,131.
