ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of September 7, 2026. You'll work three 12-hour night shifts per week, from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, earning $1,918.44 weekly.

About the Role

The Emergency Department is a high-volume, 101-bed unit. You'll manage patient ratios of 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds. You must be flexible to float across all ED sections—no floating outside the department. You'll document using the Cerner electronic health record system, operate Baxter pumps and GE monitors, and maintain updated patient boards with current information.

Scheduling and Team Environment

Every other weekend scheduling is required with flexibility to meet department needs. Block scheduling is not available. You'll follow AIDET patient experience standards, demonstrating respectful behavior and consistent communication throughout each patient visit. Technicians are available in the cardiac monitoring unit, internal processing area, and triage; unit clerks work both day and night shifts.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Preferred experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED with more than 100,000 visits annually
• Demonstrate teamwork mentality, ability to coach and provide real-time feedback, and flexibility to work in all ED areas
• Navy scrubs required as dress code

Required Certifications

• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS prior to start date
• ENPC within 90 days of hire
