PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• 3x12 day shifts scheduled from 9:30 AM to 10:00 PM
• Support recovery services for OR, Cath Lab, IR, Endoscopy, and Cardiac (except open heart) in-patient and out-patient procedures
• Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Care for patients across all age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Utilize Epic charting system (required)
• 3 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and valid California RN License
• Key skills required include Phase I PACU, arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition and management, blood product administration, central line care and management, IV vasopressors, narcotics and opioid analgesics, reversal agents, conscious sedation, post-epidural management, malignant hyperthermia protocol, pain assessment and management, PCA pump management, and airway assessment
• Procedures supported include general, gynecological, neuro, orthopedic, vascular, ENT, ophthalmology, bariatric, and urological surgeries as well as ambulatory and outpatient cases
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
