OR Registered Nurse Job in Indianapolis, IN

IU Health University Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Operating Room. You will work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday plus one rotating weekday. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 19, 2026.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in the operating room across diverse surgical specialties
• Serve patients ranging from adolescents to geriatrics
• Work within a 24-bed unit with an average daily census of 70–80
• Assume charge nurse duties if requested and within your scope of practice
• Participate in floating assignments within the hospital or to affiliate facilities as needed
• Call requirement of 40–60 hours per 6-week schedule

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience; 3 years preferred
• Experience within the last 3 years in at least one of the following: General, Ortho, Robotics, GYN, Thoracic, ENT, Oral, Urology, Whipple, Plastics (free flap), or Liver resection
• Proficiency with Cerner charting system
• Experience with DaVinci XI and DaVinci 5 University robotic systems
• Charge experience preferred
• Scrub experience is a plus
