PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Day/Night rotation shift schedule
• 36 or 48 hours per week
• On-call responsibilities required
• Work in a 10-bed Progressive Care Unit specializing in neurological and surgical patients
• Care for patients with medical conditions including neuromuscular disorders, meningitis, TBI, and spinal cord injuries
• Support Primary Stroke Center patient population
• Care for surgical patients including tumor resections (brain and spine), spinal surgery, and head and neck cancer cases
• Assist with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) trials with lumbar drains
• Must have experience with arterial lines, ventriculostomies, subdural drains, and lumbar drains
• Required experience and skills include:
  - Hemodynamic monitoring
  - Invasive BP monitoring through arterial lines
  - Bi-PAP/C-PAP
  - Trach C-PAP patients on the ventilator (NSCU/ISCU)
  - Low dose pressors, vasoactive medications, and inotropes
  - Mannitol and 3% saline (NSCU)
  - Tracheostomy care
  - Complex wound management
  - Lines, tubes, and drains for post-surgical patients
  - Ventriculostomies, subdural drains, and lumbar drains (NSCU)
