PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN on a 40-bed Progressive Care Unit located on the 5th floor of the Owen Heart Center at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of September 28, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• 3 nights per week, 12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• $2,094 weekly pay
• Every other weekend required

Your Role

You'll provide direct patient care with a standard patient ratio of 1:4 (stretch to 1:5 during peak times). Your patients will present with conditions including CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and post-procedure states (cardiac cath/stent, pacemaker/ICD/ablation). You'll perform bedside cardioversion procedures and manage titratable cardiac IV medications such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, Dobutrex, insulin drips, heparin, Bumex, and Lasix. Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) is preferred.

You'll use Cerner EMR for documentation and equipment including Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, lift equipment, and bladder scanners. As needed, you may float to Med-Surg units, stepdown units, and ER holding.

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Stepdown or progressive care experience
• Telemetry experience
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Relief charge experience
