RN - ER

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with an 11:00 AM start time
• Matrix scheduling with efforts to accommodate traveler needs
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holidays worked in rotation with permanent staff
• No on-call or standby requirement
• First to float between two campuses located 16 minutes apart, as needed
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4 depending on acuity
• Care for an average of 70 patients per day in the emergency department
• Treat a variety of patients including pediatrics, cardiac, STEMIs, strokes, trauma, abdominal pain, respiratory, and GI cases
• Administer common ER drips including pressors and sedation
• Staff triage area as needed
• Care for ER holds intermixed within the ER
• Perform and interpret cardiac monitor strips independently - no monitor techs on unit
• Perform EKGs
• Troubleshoot RT equipment including nasal cannula through ventilators
• May be asked to precept as needed
• 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam with a score of 83% or higher prior to contract signing (three attempts allowed)
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, PALS (AHA), TNCC
• Dress code: Navy scrubs required; undershirts must be navy; scrub jackets optional but must be navy if worn
