Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend shift is required
• Standard patient ratio is 1:5 with willingness to work 1:6 ratio based on unit needs
• 2 years of Med-Surg experience required
• Float within hospital within scope as needed
• Every other winter and summer holiday are required with no time off approved on those days
• No time off approved on hard-to-fill days such as Easter, Mother's Day, and Father's Day
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Maryland or compact RN license required upon submission
• Basic EKG experience required
• Orthopedic and total joint replacement experience preferred
• Must be comfortable caring for both general medical and post-operative surgical patients
• Care for adult patients on a 40-bed Surgical Orthopedics Med-Surg unit
• Admit patients from the Emergency Department who meet admission criteria, including general medical patients
• Care for surgical populations including general surgery, orthopedics, bariatrics, plastics, and urology
• General surgery cases include appendectomies, cholecystectomies, colorectal surgeries, small bowel obstructions, BKA, and AKA
• Orthopedic cases include knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, spine surgery, and limb lengthening
• Charting system: Cerner (experience preferred)
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• PCA equipment experience required
