Med Surg RN Job in Asheville, NC

Join Mission Hospital's 18-bed Renal Medicine unit on the 4th floor of the main campus as a travel RN. This is a 91-day assignment starting July 27, 2026, with a day shift schedule of 3x12 hours (6:45 AM–7:15 PM). You'll earn $2,102.40 per week.

About the Role

You'll provide direct patient care in renal medicine, performing peritoneal dialysis and managing patient assessment and treatment on a fast-paced unit. Patient ratios range from 1:4 to 1:6 for RNs. You'll have access to mobilization and lift equipment, peritoneal dialysis cyclers, and electronic scales. The unit uses the Cerner EMR system; prior experience is preferred.

Unit Structure

Day shift staffing includes 1 Charge RN, 4 floor nurses, 1 HUC, and 1 CNA. Night shift includes 1 Charge RN, 4 floor nurses, and 1 HUC/CNA combination. You may float to like units or serve as a sitter when needed.

Requirements

• RN licensure
• BLS certification (current)
• PCT certificate
• Valid nursing license in North Carolina

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree
• Certified peritoneal dialysis nurse credential
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR

Schedule & Expectations

You'll work a rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays. Navy blue scrubs are required for RNs. You should be flexible, compassionate, and adaptable in a dynamic clinical environment.
