Med Surg RN Job in Greensboro, NC

Cone Health - The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Orthopedics unit in Greensboro, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of August 17, 2026.

Schedule & Pay

• 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• One holiday shift and one evening shift required during the holiday period
• No on-call responsibilities
• Weekly pay: $2,112

Role Details

You will specialize in pre-operative and post-operative orthopedic care, managing both elective and trauma patients. Patient diagnoses include total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements and repairs, as well as orthopedic trauma. You will care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6, with possible stretch to 1:7.

Your responsibilities include using safe patient handling equipment and orthopedic-specific equipment such as CPM machines, knee immobilizers, and bone foam. You will participate in Rapid Response Teams as required and work within the EPIC charting system.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; no first-time travelers
• Current travel nursing experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Orthopedic and trauma experience required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred

Travelers may be floated to other Cone Health campuses as needed. This assignment offers the opportunity to work in a community hospital setting with exposure to diverse orthopedic and trauma cases.
