PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN on a 40-bed Progressive Care Unit located on the 5th floor of the Owen Heart Center (Heart Tower) at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of October 12, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• 3x12 night shifts: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• $2,094 weekly pay
• Every other weekend required

Your Role

You'll care for patients with CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmia, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and post-cardiac procedures (cath/stent, pacer/ICD/ablation). Patient ratios are 1:4 with stretch staffing at 1:5.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage titratable and cardiac IV medications including nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutrex, insulin drip, heparin, bumex, and Lasix
• Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) is preferred
• Perform bedside cardioversion procedures
• Operate equipment including Zoll, Baxter pump, lift equipment, and bladder scanner
• Document in Cerner EMR
• Float to all med-surg units, stepdown units, and ER holding as needed

Required Experience & Certifications

• Stepdown or progressive care experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Relief charge experience is preferred
