Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Med surg, overflow unit, post surgical, and observation unit coverage
• Unit is transitioning to team nursing model
• Patient ratio of 1:5/6 on days, nights, and weekends
• Daily census of 42 patients with 42 rooms and 42 beds
• On-call required as needed
• Weekend coverage required on an as-needed rotation basis
• Block scheduling not available; weekend block may be considered
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg experience required; 3+ years preferred
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Must be willing to work 2 of 3 end-of-year holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) if all three fall within the assignment; at least 1 of 2 holidays if only 2 fall within the assignment
• Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics
• Patient diagnoses include medical oncology, GYN surgery, and general med-surg conditions
• Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
• May be floated between like units or campuses within a 20-mile radius
• EPIC experience preferred
• ADN accepted for this position
• Active RN license in state or compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines required
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills: Telemetry, IV Start
