ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - MICU

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Self-scheduling type
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Every other weekend required with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per contract
• No on-call requirement
• Float requirement: may float to Med-Surg if needed
• 24-hour unit orientation
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Prior travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Local candidates accepted with a rate difference
• Epic charting system experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Common patient diagnoses include Sepsis, DKA, COPD, and Heart Failure
• Perform and assist with special procedures including Central Line Insertion, Chest Tubes, Arterial Lines, and Invasive Monitoring
• Operate special equipment including HelloCare and Tele-ICU systems
• Utilize Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR for medication, documentation, and communication
• Interdisciplinary support available including Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, and Unit Secretary
• Required skills include: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, 12-lead EKG/ECG, CVP monitoring, IV insulin protocols, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP management, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), ABG interpretation, and isolation precautions/PPE
• Preferred skills include: CVICU experience, Neuro ICU experience, Surgical ICU experience, PICC line management, previous charge experience, and community hospital experience
