PCU RN Job in Omaha, NE

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit on the 4th Floor East Wing at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 3, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,570.

Shift and Schedule

• 3x12-hour shifts available on days (6:30 AM – 6:30 PM) or nights (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement

Unit Overview

• 55-bed PCU with 1:4 RN-to-patient ratio on both day and night shifts
• Adult patient population; pediatric patients 15 years or older are rare
• Common diagnoses: CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, subdural hematoma, and weakness
• Common medications and drips: PCA pumps, Cardizem, and insulin

Clinical Requirements and Skills

• Telemetry competency required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Valid driver's license required at submittal
• Pass/fail open-book orientation exam required (minimum score 90%)
• BSN not required

Equipment and Technology

• Charting system: EPIC
• IV pumps: Alaris
• Mechanical lifts available in every other room

Unit Support and Team

• Nursing assistant support, charge nurse, educator, care managers, social workers, dieticians, PT, and OT available on unit
• Float capability required, ideally to medical-surgical areas based on highest need

Facility Policies

• Scrub colors: Navy Blue for RNs; Ceil Blue for CNAs
• Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care departments
