PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Night shift patient ratio is 1:3 or 1:4 depending on staffing needs
• Clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs
• 1+ year of recent PCU experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN license required
• Required certifications (AHA only): ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Scrub color requirement: All RNs must wear solid royal blue or white top with royal blue bottoms
• Charting system: EPIC
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Block schedule available with manager approval based on unit needs
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Unit specializes in pre- and post-operative transplant patients including liver, kidney, and kidney/pancreas transplants, as well as nephrology and urology patients
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, continuous bladder irrigation, heparin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, liver and renal transplant care, cardiac and vasoactive drip management, non-invasive airway management, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, wound care/wound vac, and computerized documentation
